The Team: 
Our Purchasing team plays a key role in ensuring the quality and timeliness of product provided to our customers and internal teams.  We work to provide best in class supply chain management practices by establishing and maintaining an exceptional supply base and internal processes that allow for quality parts to meet 100% on time delivery requirements of the internal and external customer.  Key objectives to achieve this goal include supply base strategies, supply chain planning and procurement execution, price negotiation strategies, asset management, supplier risk management, cost management practices, supplier relationship management, supplier quality objectives, compliance administration, continuous improvement and data measurement.

The Role: 
The Buyer participates in all objectives listed above.  This role is responsible to make sure the correct items of superior quality are received in a timely fashion to ensure uninterrupted flow of product to our production team.  You will work in a dynamic environment purchasing product, expediting and de-expediting due to the changing needs of our customers, creating and maintaining excellent supplier relationships, and making product decisions that directly impact the company and its operations.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

You will spend your time:

  • Coordinate all purchasing activity for assigned products including review of material requirements, purchase order placement, expedites/de-expedites, order confirmations, past due purchase order follow-up, non-conforming material disposition, and invoice discrepancies
  • Perform ERP system part number/supplier maintenance and PO entry/changes
  • Initiate cost reductions through effective negotiation strategies
  • Strategic product sourcing
  • Supplier qualification
  • Supplier development
  • Communications – both internally to other teams/departments within the company and externally with suppliers and customers
  • Develop inventory planning initiatives for key items
  • Review and provide external feedback of supplier quality and delivery performance
  • Perform supplier audits as required
  • Provide support for supply chain compliance initiatives (RoHS, Reach, Conflict Minerals etc.)
  • Participate in Supply Management improvement initiatives
  • Maintain ethical conduct and confidentiality

We are excited about you if you have:

  • A minimum of 3 years purchasing experience
  • 2 to 4-year business related degree preferred
  • Manufacturing and MRP experience desirable
  • Experience utilizing Microsoft Office Suite, specifically with Excel
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize workload in a dynamic environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively both individually and in team setting

Travel:

  • This position may travel between the RiverSide Lewiston and Winona facilities.
  • Infrequent travel for trainings and/or business needs may be required.

  • Frequent bending, twisting, reaching, kneeling
  • Ability to walk, stand, and sit
  • Lifting up to 10 pounds
